Strategies[]
For more tips and tricks for using Mimikyu, see here.
Experiment With Disguise[]
Mimikyu's fighting effectiveness is enhanced by the powers of disguise. Utilizing and comprehending these effects is a fundamental aspect of Mimikyu's gameplay.
Change Tactics Based On Move 2[]
The degree to which Mimikyu learns Trick Room or Shadow Sneak affects how it plays. This is because every move has a radically different effect and makes the Pokemon play in a different way.
Take Advantage of Mimikyu's Boosted Attack Mechanic[]
Every time Mimikyu makes a move, it earns a Boosted Attack. Use this technique to add Boosted Attacks to Mimikyu's combos or to spam them. By doing this, Mimikyu is able to do a substantial amount of damage.
Use Play With Me... on Key Targets[]
Play With Me confines a target in place and slowly does damage. The technique is special because, while the target is imprisoned, it is unaffected by any other moves save Mimikyu's. This implies that the target's teammates' heals, shields, and buffs will be ineffective. It is ideal to utilize the move on important targets, such as the damage dealer or supporter of the other team, to either finish them off or remove them from the fight temporarily.
Watch Out for Pokemon with Strong Disables[]
Since Mimikyu is a melee Pokemon that depends on special mechanics to be triggered, it struggles against Pokemon who have a lot of powerful disables. It becomes very challenging for Mimikyu to carry out its games effectively if the Pokemon is perpetually shocked and unable to strike adversaries. When using disablers, try to avoid them as much as you can or wait for their cooldown to end before using them in combat.
Evolution[]
Mimikyu is not known to evolve from any Pokemon, thus having no evolution.

![]() |
Play Rough | ![]() |
7.5 seconds | 1476 | 2664 | Has the user jump forward, then move around opposing Pokémon it hits, dealing damage multiple times and decreasing their movement speed for a short time. After the attack is finished, the user jumps in the designated direction.

![]() |
Shadow Claw | ![]() |
4 seconds | 599 | 1190 | Has the user slash in front of itself with sharp claws, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits, decreasing their movement speed, and restoring the user's HP. Whenever the user hits opposing Pokémon with a basic attack, this move's cooldown is reduced, and the number of times the user attacks when this move is used next increases (maximum 4 times). The movement speed decreases caused by this move can stack.

One of the following moves can be learned at Level 7 to replace
![]() |
Shadow Sneak | ![]() |
9 seconds | 852 | 1308 | Has the user extend its shadow, marking an opposing Pokémon it hits as a shadow target for a short time. If the shadow passes through tall grass or a wall, it extends even further. If the user deals damage to an opposing Pokémon marked as a shadow target, additional damage is dealt based on the percentage of HP that the opposing Pokémon has lost. If this move is used again, the user moves to an opposing Pokémon marked as a shadow target, deals damage to it, and extends the duration of that Pokémon's shadow mark. If the user knocks out a Pokémon marked as a shadow target, this move's cooldown is reset and the user recovers HP.

|
![]() |
Trick Room | ![]() |
7 seconds | N/A | Has the user create a bizarre area around itself. If a movement speed decrease is applied to the user while it is within the area, that effect is converted into a movement speed increase, and the user takes reduced damage from Pokémon outside the area. Also, while in the area, the user can use this move again to move a set distance forward, as often as desired.

Level 9
The Pokémon learns its Unite Move.
![]() |
Play With Me... | ![]() |
112 seconds | 3052 | 4214 | Has the user leap at an opposing Pokémon and trap it inside its rag, dealing damage over time and granting the user a shield. The trapped opposing Pokémon isn't affected by any Pokémon's moves except the user's. If the user loses its shield, or if a set amount of time passes, the user stops attacking and jumps in the designated direction. |
